Aviaco acts for the environment

Aviaco takes responsibility for the environment by implementing ecological and eco-responsible approaches. Indeed, the company’s main activity, which is the distribution of helicopter spare parts, operates on the principle of recycling. Aviaco, therefore, enables other helicopters to be put back into service, thanks to the parts that can be re-certified.

Otherwise, the aircraft are deposited within companies specialised in the treatment of industrial waste. This storage is without any preventive measures, where overexposure to heat and cold partly destroy the parts. The device naturally ends up deteriorating and contributes to the pollution of our planet.

For parts that cannot be repaired, Aviaco calls on Daddi Metal. This local company collects all the elements to recover metals such as aluminium, steel, copper or even titanium to reuse them in the manufacture of new objects (street furniture, etc.). While the quality of the company’s services was a criterion of choice, its geographical location largely influenced Aviaco’s decision. Indeed, located in Gignac-La-Nerthe, this proximity makes it possible to prevent transit over too great a distance and thus to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

In addition to treating metals, Daddi Metal also collects and treats hydrocarbons that Aviaco cannot process on its industrial site.

For the office, Aviaco has set up a selective sorting to recover traditional waste such as glass, recyclable packaging and paper, this system recover various types of additional waste. These include coffee grounds, batteries, light bulbs, toners, wood, electronic waste and cigarette butts.

Aviaco has made a partnership with a local company to reduce the movement of waste to the treatment centre. Aviaco found a company that enables it to monitor the treatment of this waste until the end of the recycling process to be able to improve its environmental performances.

Spare parts, metals or light bulbs, recycling can give a second life to many objects while preserving and reducing the pollution that impacts our planet.
